#10 Gus Worland: Gotcha 4 Life

Gus Worland is best known for his time working in breakfast radio with the Triple M Grill Team and for his starring roll in Fox 8 series Aussie goes Barmy, Aussie goes Bolly and Aussie goes Calypso from 2006 to 2008. Throughout these series he followed the Australian Cricket Team during their tours of England, India and the West Indies. Hugh Jackman co-produced this series that ultimately gave Gus his start after working in sales for Toshiba for 15 years. In 2008 Gus was awarded for the best show on pay TV and followed this up claiming best on-air newcomer in 2010 at the Australian commercial radio awards. Gus regularly features on the Today show and Sports Sunday on channel 9 and admittedly has faced his own struggles with his weight and is a strong advocate for mental fitness and developing emotional resilience. After a close friend took his own life, Gus has continued to leverage his image, identity and influence to promote mental wellbeing through the Gotcha4Life foundation which he founded in 2017. Today the foundation leads charity events, sells merchandise and offers programs led by expert facilitators such as Tomorrow Man and Weave Kids targeting high risk populations like indigenous communities. Gus emphasises the importance of not only generating conversation around mental health, but why we need to take action. Gotcha4Life is at the forefront of this!
