A true tale of redemption. Simon Fenech’s story is extraordinary. For a man who seemingly had a great quality of life, a great upbringing and very rarely engaged in risk taking behaviour or use of illicit substances. One work related accident caused a spiral of events that would change the path of his life forever. Spending $1000 a day on Crystal methamphetamine, father, brother and daughter dead across a matter of 2 years. 3 stabbings, 5 suicide attempts and 12 months in prison. Simon Fenech was employed by fruit 2 work shortly after his release from prison in 2016 as a delivery driver and in the past 7 years has been promoted to general manager. Fruit 2 work is a social enterprise, a non-for profit organisation that helps provide those like Simon who have been impacted by the justice system with opportunities to rehabilitate through regular earnings and opportunities to learn and develop as humans. Simon’s story and fruit2work have featured in Qantas magazine, 2GB, the herald sun, Maxim, SBS and Probono Australia.
