During her career, she has become a highly experienced elite sports scientist, nutritionist, S & C and high-performance coach. Her journey has taken her from the NSW and Sydney Academies of Sport, where she worked with incredible athletes across a range of sports, including quite astonishingly, a blind downhill skier  — to her time at NRL clubs Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and Canterbury Bulldogs — and then a stint at Rugby Australia. Liz has become a role model for many men and women in her field. Her dedication, work ethic and determination, has made her one of the most respected sports scientists in the country. In this episode, we chat to Liz about being a trailblazer for women in what was originally a male-dominated field, and her significant influence on bringing in and developing GPS technology in Australian professional sports. Along with this, her research around sleep in sports and her vast knowledge around nutrition and managing top athletes will help to ensure that the next generation of sports scientists will maintain a bright future for Australian sports.
